Collard family racing update February 2015

Rob Collard has re-signed with West Surrey Racing for a sixth consecutive season in this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. Rob, who has taken eight race victories in his BTCC career to date – all with WSR, finished sixth in the overall championship last season and helped the squad win both the teams’ and independent teams’ titles. Rob has been part of the BMW 1 Series programme since its inception in early 2013 and has gone on to enjoy one victory and a further seven podiums in the all-conquering 125i M Sport WSR designed and built machine.

Rob said: “I am delighted to be racing for WSR for my eighth year in total with the team in the BTCC. We have had some great memories together and I believe there are many more to come. I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel during testing over the coming week as we prepare to defend our titles in 2015.”

Dick Bennetts, WSR Team Principal, said: “Rob has been a mainstay of WSR for a number of years and we’re extremely pleased to have him signed up for another season. Rob’s speed and experience are there for all to see and he will, as ever, play a key role in helping WSR challenge for more titles.”

Ricky Collard has signed with Arden Motor Sports for the Formula 4 2015 season. Arden team principal, Garry Horner, said "we are very happy to sign Ricky to our Junior team. He already has a year’s experience racing on the British Touring Car Championship package so has invaluable Mygale-Ford knowledge. We have great confidence in Ricky leading the team to success."

Ricky added "I’m buzzing to get going and really get stuck into the championship. Last season was mixed for me but I learnt so much and hope that I can use that experience to claim some big results this year."

Jordan Collard won at Whilton Mill on Sunday 25th January and will continue his karting career in 2015 in the Super One Mini Max British Championship.

Collard Racing continues to be supported by the Duo Group and Hitachi Construction Equipment.
