Season best at Snetterton for Ricky
British racing driver Ricky Collard recorded a hard-fought second place overall finish at Snetterton in Norfolk on Sunday (1- 3 Aug) in the British Formula Ford Championship for the Falcon Motorsport team.
Collard worked hard with the team to set the car up for the challenging 2.99 mile Norfolk circuit after alot of work pre-race, but it ended up a weekend of highs and lows on track.
A clean start off the line in the first racesaw Ricky manage the traffic well to finish in fourth overall. A reversed grid for race 2 saw Ricky take his best result and his first overall second placed podium finish ahead of teammate and championship front-runner Harrison Scott, in what was a superb demonstration of his abilities. The final race of the weekend was full of incident and Ricky had to settle for a fifth in class at the flag.
Commenting on his podium finish, Collard explained: “I am very proud to have claimed my best result of the year so far with a second place overall finish in the second race of the weekend. To be honest it felt more like a win and I was really pleased to be on the podium.”
