Widely considered in motorsport circles as one of the sport`s most up and coming driver’s Ricky started his racing career in the MSA Cadet Championship.
He has marked himself out as one of the brightest young prospects after a promising debut karting season in 2007, saw him produce some impressive drives against an international field of competitors at just 11 years of age.
- British F3 Vice Champion
Ricky completed his first season in the British Formula 3 scoring the most pole positions and fastest laps and completing the season as Vice Champion.
- BMW Junior
Ricky has recently been approached by global manufacturer BMW to become a member of its junior program. Collard impressed a jury of BMW Motorsport experts at a shootout in the BMW M235i Racing in March. He has been rewarded with the opportunity to receive a comprehensive training within the BMW Motorsport Junior programme. Ricky completes numerous fitness, mental and simulator training modules as well as races throughout the year.
- McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Of The Year Finalist
For the second consecutive year Ricky has been selected as a finalist onto the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Of The Year award. This year only four finalists made it to the end where they were examined at Silverstone, driving F2, Mercedes DTM and McLaren GT3 machinery. Ricky also had access to a McLaren 650S road car for sighting laps. They also undertook simulator, fitness and mental tests and were interviewed by the judging panel.
- DTM Experience
After a very successful year, Ricky was granted the helm of a BMW M4 DTM machine for a 2 day test in Jerez, as part of the DTM Young driver test. Ricky performed extremely well on both days surprising the bosses at BMW, Ricky will be attending some of the DTM races this year to learn with an ambition to progress to DTM in the near future. Ricky also received testing in the Mercedes DTM car around Silverstone, as part of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Of The Year award.
- F1 Simulator Experience
As part of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Of The Year award Ricky has since tested on the current McLaren F1 simulator, as well as this Ricky also received a simulator test with RedBull F1.
Ricky's contract with the legendry German manufacture BMW has been extended for another year, as well as an increased race program. Ricky will compete solely in GT's this year after BMW's offer to progress Ricky from formula cars to GT cars.
So far Ricky has been given the privilege of racing and debuting the new BMW M4 GT4 which will come to market for 2018 as well as BMW's M235i Racing and completing a full season in the M6 GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters.

As well as this Ricky has also been awarded a position on the BRDC Rising Stars program for a third consecutive year.
Ricky will be a busy racer this year gaining experience as he has now driven all the current BMW race cars
Ricky competed in his debut GT3 Race in the ADAC GT Masters and won! This granted BMW their first win in GT Masters and also pushed Ricky to the top of the championship. Ricky has also made the record books in becoming the first BMW Junior to win in the M6 as well as winning on his debut weekend.
